Interestingly, basophils were present in mouse lung tumors. Lavin and collaborators compared the simultaneous single-cell analysis of the immune compartments in early lung adenocarcinoma, non-involved lung tissue , and peripheral blood of each patient . This study demonstrates that, as early as in stage I disease, basophils are present in the immune landscape of nLung adenocarcinoma.

- Always rule out drug ingestion and parasitic infection.
- On a peripheral blood smear look for clues of underlying neoplasia .
