Will Joe Hill Return For Season 12 Of Blue Bloods
Joe Hill disappeared in season 11 because he was undercover, which led to the excellent finale, which reunited him in a major way with brothers Danny and Jamie, but he will not be a series regular.
Wade told TV Insider, Wed like to be able to weave him in and out of stories. He obviously has a great chemistry and connection to our cast, and my anecdotal evidence is that the audience really liked what he brought to the show. He has a fresh relationship with the characters that theyve been with for 11 years.

Blue Bloods Season 13 Episode 8 Review: Poetic Justice
Erin and Anthony are constantly crossing each other’s boundaries.
Erin has pissed Anthony off by running background checks on people he’s spending time with, and Anthony is never shy about his opinion of Erin’s relationship with Jack.
On Blue Bloods Season 13 Episode 8, Anthony irritated Erin by taking surveillance photos of Jack, only for her to realize he was right to be concerned.
I thought Erin had officially declared her candidacy long ago, but Anthony was worried about what would happen when she officially filed the paperwork.
Is that coming? Because otherwise, this storyline — which has been primarily nonexistent anyway — is a waste of time.
In any case, Erin should have realized without Anthony’s help that her relationship with Jack was likely political suicide. Jack is as shady a lawyer as they come he’s bound to have a ton of skeletons in his closet.
And even if he weren’t having lunch with mobsters, which was a very on-brand thing for Jack to do, the press would still make a huge deal out of Erin spending a lot of time with the ex-husband who has a reputation for dishonesty.
That kind of personal crap shouldn’t matter it’s irrelevant to how well Erin would perform in the role of Manhattan DA. But the media often fixates on stories like this, and it DOES matter to some voters.
Erin should have known that, but since she wasn’t thinking politically, Anthony helped her.
Was Erin right to ditch Jack? Probably.
Which Major Recurring Characters Will Return For Blue Bloods Season 13
Also expected to return are Frank Reagans staff, including Det. Abigail Baker , Deputy Commissioner of Public Information Garrett Moore , and Lt. Sidney Gormley .
Over in the D.A.s office, we should see the return of DA Investigator Anthony Abetemarco and Erins boss and nemesis Kimberly Crawford .
And, then, of course, Joe Hill will be in and out as a family member and also a member of the NYPD.
Also, back for family dinners will be Andrew Terraciano, who plays Dannys younger son Sean, who is still at home, but getting close to going off to college.

What Happened At The End Of Blue Bloods Season 12

Danny and Jamie joined forces with their nephew Joe Hill, when Jamie and Joes search for an undocumented trafficked teenage girl converged with Danny and Baezs investigation in which a pregnant woman died in a bomb explosion. Miraculously, the baby was saved, and Baez later decided to adopt it. The combined teams also managed to track down the teenage girl, who was wearing a bomb, but Danny defused it.
Then at family dinner, where Joe once again joined the family, there was also a new guest, Anthony Abetemarco , and the reason he was invited was that Erin announced she will be running for District Attorney.

Are There Any Spoilers For Blue Bloods Season 13
Its not exactly a spoiler since Erin Reagan announced at family dinner in the season 12 finale that she will be running for D.A., so we can expect to see the ramifications of what that means and if it will lead to a conflict with Frank.
Showrunner Kevin Wade told Deadline, A Season 13 would have two tracks for Erin. Doing the job she has, challenging herself, and being challenged about her fitness for the job she wants. And what shes willing, and not willing, to do in order to get it. So, plenty of horse-trading, soul-searching, and disruption with the powers that be, her partner Anthony, and especially her family.
Erin Finally Decides To Run For District Attorney
For much of Season 12, the idea of Erin finally stepping up career-wise by running for Manhattan district attorney teasingly dangles as a major possibility. In the episode “Protective Instincts,” Frank certainly thinks about it when considering a job move to the NFL as senior vice president of security. And throughout the rest of the season, Erin comes into conflict quite a few times with the current district attorney. She is entirely keen on running until the episode “Reality Check.” Erin starts wondering what all her razor-focus on her career has cost her personally.
And in the final episode, those personal doubts run rampant again. In one scene, Erin confesses to Frank that her biggest fear about attempting to go for the district attorney position is losing. The moment initially looks like it’s Erin’s definitive way of finally throwing in the towel on the idea. However, at the family dinner, it looks like Erin has finally cast away any second thoughts. With everyone present, Erin finally confirms that she will run for district attorney. Erin’s announcement wraps up one of Season 12’s nagging questions and possibly sets up one of the major plot threads throughout Season 13. Whether Erin wins or loses, her candidacy will offer a great shift for the Reagan family.

Will Joe Hill Return For Season 13 Of Blue Bloods
Joe Hills appearance in the season 12 finale as part of a case but also turning up for family dinner was a definite indication that he will continue to weave in and out of stories in season 13. Not ready yet to become a series regular, Joe will be used auspiciously because of his family connection to the Reagans.
Will Jamie And Eddie Get Pregnant In Blue Bloods Season 12
At this point in the storytelling, it is not planned that Eddie will get pregnant, although she has been caught looking longingly at kids and has gone out of her way to assist a few. But right now, both Eddie and Jamie are focusing on their careers. There is some discussion about Eddie becoming a detective based on the success shes had when shes gone undercover on assignments. Of course, if Ray were to get pregnant in real life, that could change everything.

Will ‘blue Bloods’ Get Renewed For Season 14
Since Blue Bloods first debuted in 2010, the show has continued to hold onto solid ratings and a loyal fanbase. In fact, after the show’s renewal for Season 13, it became the longest-running traditional crime drama in the history of CBS.
Given that, there’s no reason to believe that Blue Bloods won’t be renewed for another season. In fact, Tom Selleck himself thinks that Blue Bloods could go on for a very long time.
Speaking with People back in 2020, Tom said “I dont think there is an end point. I think there is a lot of life in the show, as long as you let your characters grow and get older.”
However, as of this writing, Blue Bloods has yet to be renewed for Season 14. It wasn’t until the end of April of 2022 that the show was renewed for the current season, so it will likely be a few months before we hear any news one way or the other.
In the meantime, be sure to tune in for the Blue Bloods Season 13 midseason finale on Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS, and streaming on Paramount Plus.
