The dying persons face, hands, arms, feet and legs often become very cool to touch. Their skin might also become pale and look blotchy or mottled.
This happens because there is less blood circulation to these body parts. Keep them warm with blankets, but dont use an electric blanket as this could become too uncomfortable.
Thick socks can help to keep their feet warm. Dont overheat the room, as this can make it stuffy. Just keep it at a comfortable temperature.

Blood Cancer Treatment And Therapy Options
Treatment for blood and bone marrow cancers depends on the type of cancer, your age, how fast the cancer is progressing, where the cancer has spread and other factors. Some common blood cancer treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma include:
Stem cell transplantation: A stem cell transplant infuses healthy blood-forming stem cells into the body. Stem cells may be collected from the bone marrow, circulating blood and umbilical cord blood.
Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy uses anticancer drugs to interfere with and stop the growth of cancer cells in the body. Chemotherapy for blood cancer sometimes involves giving several drugs together in a set regimen. This treatment may also be given before a stem cell transplant.
Radiation therapy: Radiation therapy may be used to destroy cancer cells or to relieve pain or discomfort. It may also be given before a stem cell transplant.

From the point of diagnosis onwards, you should be offered symptom and pain relief. This is known as palliative care and it is separate to active treatment given to treat your lymphoma.

- There are ways to manage most symptoms. Speak to your doctor or nurse about any symptoms you have.
- Tell your doctor or nurse straight away about any pain. The sooner you get treatment, the better the chance of getting the pain under control.
- Pancreatic cancer can cause problems with digestion. Taking capsules called pancreatic enzymes when you eat can help.
- As you approach the end of life, you may feel less like eating, and lose weight. This is normal.

There are a number of things that can happen to your body as you near the end of your life. The problems you develop depend on how aggressive the lymphoma is and which parts of your body it affects. When lymphoma affects a particular organ, it can stop that organ from doing its job.
These changes usually happen because of the impact lymphoma has on your organs and because of how cancer affects your body overall. Gradually, your body slows down and stops functioning as it should. You might have less energy, lose weight and spend more time sleeping.

Unexplained Rash Or Itchy Skin
Cause: Rashes can be caused by a low level of platelets. Some people with blood cancer experience itching, but we dont fully understand what causes this yet.
What you might expect:
- You may notice small red spots in the skin or a purple rash .
- Petechiae and purpura dont fade when you press on them.
- Itching due to lymphoma can be severe. It may also cause a burning sensation.
- On darker skin, these will appear darker than the surrounding skin.
Discontinuation Of Causative/exacerbating Agents
One of the most critical components of the assessment of patients with bleeding is a thorough assessment of potential causative or exacerbating agents. Obviously, the medications that fall into this category cannot be fully discussed in this manuscript, but the most common medications for advanced cancer patients include NSAIDs and anticoagulants. Anti-inflammatories are often used to treat pain for patients with advanced cancer, but it is important to consider their anti-platelet and anti-coagulant properties that may exacerbate bleeding. Similarly, patients with advanced cancer are often on anticoagulants such as warfarin or enoxaparin, which necessitates the considerations of the risks of further bleeding against the risks of deep venous or pulmonary thromboembolism. Among patients on anticoagulation, patients with cancer develop bleeding complications at a higher rate than those without cancer . INR control is difficult in the setting of cancer treatments, so use of oral anticoagulation during the first year after cancer diagnosis can increase bleeding and other major cardiac adverse events .
The effect of chemotherapy agents and radiation therapy on thrombocytopenia should also be considered, as this may increase the risk of bleeding. If considered a critical contributor, these agents may be held to allow bone marrow recovery and resolution of thrombocytopenia.

To understand terminal leukemia symptoms and what they look like,, its good to first understand a bit about the different types of leukemia as they each react uniquely within the body.
There are four main types of leukemia. Whether your leukemia is considered myeloid or lymphocytic has to do with which bone marrow cells the blood cancer begins in. Leukemia will also be referred to as acute or chronic, depending on whether the abnormal cells are immature or mature.
In chronic leukemia, it may look like you have normal cells. However, they dont typically fight infection as well as normal white blood cells do. Accept that strange behavior is normal for cancer patients during the last days. Extreme withdrawal from those around them is a common end-of-life symptom that can upset those caring for them.

Many caregivers need help but seldom ask for it. People can offer support by offering caregivers a break by taking over small tasks or encouraging them to delegate tasks to other family members.
People can also remind and encourage caregivers to take care of themselves. While they want to focus solely on their loved ones end-of-life care, reminding them to relax, rest, and not neglect their personal lives may help recharge them to be better caregivers.
Educating caregivers and relatives about what changes to expect and what they can do may prevent overwhelm and burnout. One 2017 study found that caregivers wanted resources for palliative care, coupled with education. They also appreciated direct language and for doctors to clearly state when death is close.
Another 2017 study notes that caregivers wanted support for three key things: decision making, information about dying and death, and emotional distress. However, the participants felt that the timing of information, and how hospitals structure care around the individual and not the family, were barriers to getting adequate support.

This can include anything thats important to you, for example, how you like to dress or what music you enjoy listening to.
