Blue Bloods Show Summary
Frank Reagan is the New York Chief of Police and patriarch of the Reagan brood, which he heads as diplomatically as he does the force, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry, during his stint as Chief. A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son Danny, a seasoned detective, family man and Iraqi War vet who on occasion uses dubious tactics to solve cases. The sole Reagan woman in the family, Erin, is a N.Y. Assistant D.A. and newly single parent, who also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father. Jamie is the youngest Reagan, fresh out of Harvard Law and the family’s “golden boy”.However, unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and is now a newly minted cop, a career change seemingly supported by his beautiful girlfriend, Sydney Davenport, a first year lawyer. Jamie’s life takes an abrupt turn, however, when he’s asked to become part of a clandestine police investigation even his father knows nothing about, and one that could impact the family’s legacy.
Blue Bloods Recap: The Reagans Find Some Problems Too Tricky To Fix
Sometimes, trying to fix a problem can only make it worse.
After a case of Frank handling a hero wanting to be a cop and news of a Season 13 coming, Blue Bloods had its penultimate episode of Season 12.
Tangled Up in Blue put Jamie, Erin, and Henry in tough positions where there was no such thing as an easy fix that amped up the drama.
More Rocky Rides Are Expected
Katz confronted Erin once more on how she was the only person left at the D.A.s office from his case. He rambled on Joe Malone and ingredients before claiming it was his wifes perfume and left a baffled Erin behind.
Kirk defended his health to Harry, but Henry suspected there was more to the checkup even as he thought of taking a road trip.
Sid and Moore were convinced Frank was giving them a secret signal to help Jamie, but Baker knew Frank was not someone playing that game and didnt want their help.
Frank interrupted to reveal the crash victim was suing Jamie and the department, but all he wanted was a good defense attorney. He left as Baker related to the men told you so.
Anthony told Erin that several members of the Fratello family flipped on Lenny to help their sentences but blamed him for crimes he didnt seem likely to be capable of. Erin admitted that she avoided the D.A. of the time for his attitude but hated the idea hed done this to pad his numbers.
Anthony had Erin empty her purse as it turned out Katz had been tracking her all this time.
Speaking to Internal Affairs, Jamie denied his impaired driving could have contributed to two kids drag racing. However, he was wary of how two IAB cops he knew as pit bulls seemed to be going soft on him and lax on the investigation.
Jamie came home to find Henry, Danny, and Erin waiting with Eddie. He didnt want to cause trouble with Peters girlfriend and pointed out there was a reason Frank wasnt there.

Secrets Lies And Health Problems
Frank came home to find Henry waiting in a sour mood as Frank not asking any questions during the visit was suspicious. Hed called the office to find out about the cancer and was more upset at Frank trying to handle him than not telling him about this.
Henry admitted he was disappointed in his son and said, youre a good fixer, but when are you going to learn sometimes fixing isnt whats called for? Frank brought up not helping Jamie with Henry pointing out that was different and that Frank had to be a supporter sometimes instead of solving problems.
Anthony and Danny argued about Erin looking bad if Katz was arrested. Danny shared Katz had gotten tougher in prison and hated just sitting and waiting. An upset Erin related that there was chatter in the underworld of Katz talking to her and was worried one of them had spread it.
At a bar, Eddie and Badillo talked to Officer Tate Jones , who had held Jamie at the scene. They didnt blame him for doing his job but got him to admit that the racing cars might have had cameras set up to show what happened.
Frank visited Jamie to relate the chat with Henry and talked as much as he could about the case. Jamie wasnt going to hurt Petes career to save his own. The last thing he wanted was for the Reagan legacy to be ruined helping him, which Frank had to admire.
Back at his desk, Jamie was a bit surprised no one was saying anything and happily accepted Eddie leading the squad in a rendition of Cause I Got High.
Blue Bloods Season 12 Episode 19 Review: Tangled Up In Blue

Talk about bizarre!
Blue Bloods Season 12 Episode 19 featured Erin dealing with a stalker, but not one that meant her any harm. This case got weirder by the minute, and she ended up being the hero who saved her stalker’s life.
What kind of stalking story was this?
Lenny the stalker was mostly harmless. He rambled on and on about the price of food in restaurants, and the perfume both Erin and his wife wore and begged her to help him prove he got a raw deal 12 years ago.
If Erin had to have a stalker, Lenny was the kind she wanted. He didn’t want to hurt her. He just wanted her to admit he was right about the previous DA’s actions.
Ultimately, there was nothing she could do but apologize, so she could have saved herself some time and energy and just done that in the first place. She might not have known the specifics, but she knew that the DA on the case at the time was sleazy.
Anthony: Did Bernie Lidgett seem like a straight shooter to you?Erin: I avoided him as much as I could. He was a serial horndog before there was a word for it.
Beyond an apology, it wasn’t clear what Lenny wanted. It wasn’t like Erin could reopen his case or undo the last 12 years of his life.
Anthony and Danny’s investigation turned up next to nothing, and then everything changed because it turned out Lenny had poked out a mob kid’s eye in jail.
This story had so much potential, but it fell flat.

REGULAR CAST:
Tangled Up In Blue Had Strange Plot Threads
“Tangled Up in Blue” fittingly saw several members of the Reagan family tangled up in some sticky situations. Jamie gets into hot water when he attends a party and unknowingly consumes refreshments laced with drugs, Frank and Henry butt heads over health issues, and Erin contends with a stalker. However, some viewers felt that elements of these storylines were handled poorly.
On a recently posted discussion thread on the r/bluebloods subreddit, u/axarce argued that the episode had some strange writing choices, such as how no one was arrested in Jamie’s storyline for lacing the food with drugs, how Frank acted very out of character when it came to his issues with Henry, and how Erin’s stalker had a bizarre ability to escape harrowing situations completely unscathed.
Other users validated the user’s sentiments. “Yeah a lot of weird writing choices,” u/2Blitz commented. “Feels like a huge chunk of the episode was missing too. Super rushed. They need to chill with the multiple storylines if they cant fit it within the runtime.”
While this perceived dip in writing quality may be worrisome for some fans, the series has definitely had spotty moments before and has always pushed past them to get back to its usual level of quality. Hopefully, the strange writing decisions made in this particular “Blue Bloods” episode were nothing more than an odd fluke.

Blue Bloods Season 12 Episode 1: When To Expect The First Promo
Blue BloodsApril 15, 2022
We know that Blue Bloods season 12 episode 19 will not be airing until Friday, April 29, but when will we learn more about it? Is that first promo going to be coming sooner rather than later?
As most of you out there are probably aware, if we could offer up some more footage of this episode now, we would. Yet, CBS tends to be fairly protective of their upcoming episodes in a way some other networks are not. The likes of ABC and The CW, for example, will often share a promo for the next episode the night the previous one airs, even if theres a lengthy hiatus in between. CBS doesnt do that with a significant chunk of their shows instead, they wait until a week, at least, prior to the show coming back. That means that the earliest you could expect a look at episode 19 is one week from tomorrow on April 22.
Do we already know a reasonable amount about this episode? Sure. The title, for example, is Tangled Up in Blue and it will feature an emotional story with Frank at the center. After his father gets a troubling medical diagnosis? What does he do? Does it change the way that Henry tends to live his life?
So how much of this will actually be in a first-look promo? Probably not much, given that CBS rarely ever tends to give a lot away in some of these but its still better to have a few tidbits than nothing at all.

A Dangerous Drive Ahead
Erin was wrapping up a dinner with some friends when she heard a man ramble about how the neighborhood used to be in the 1990s. He asked if Erin remembered him as he had just spent 12 years in prison and if she ever wondered, did we treat Lenny Katz unfairly? A shaken Erin grabbed a car.
Frank was talking to Henry about some of the new rules for the cops, only for Henry to mention his doctor wanting an appointment. He felt fine but mused that the doctor asking for a second visit after a physical wasnt a good sign as Frank agreed to drive him.
Jamie was leaving a voicemail for his friend Peter Chou, wondering who had slipped something into his food at the party at Peters place. He was about to pass out just as two cars came racing by him, one crashing into a pole.
Despite his condition, Jamie raced to help the driver out as the firemen and paramedics arrived. The police officer recognized Jamie, who was forced to admit hed been drugged.
Eddie was outraged at Peters girlfriend spiking the party meals, but Jamie figured that wouldnt matter. A cop with any sort of drugs in their system was already in huge trouble. He also knew that if Frank came anywhere near this case, he would lose the respect of his fellow cops.
At a hospital, Frank met Dr. Kirk OConnor about Henry. OConnor admitted that theyd caught prostate cancer in Henry.

Why Blue Bloods Season 12 Episode 19 Doesn’t Sit Right With Some Fans
“Blue Bloods,” the hit CBS police procedural series following the Reagan family and their lives as members of the New York Police Department, is still going strong even after all these years. The show just wrapped up Season 12 and is showing no signs of slowing down, with a 13th season already in the works. Likewise, the show’s fan base is just as devoted as ever, with many eagerly watching each new installment to see the latest developments and storylines for their favorite characters.
Unfortunately, one of the most recent episodes specifically Season 12, Episode 19, titled “Tangled Up in Blue” didn’t sit right with some “Blue Bloods” devotees. The episode was set up just as any other typical outing for the show, featuring several concurrent plots for Jamie, Frank, Henry, and Erin, and didn’t really deviate from the norm on its face. However, the handling of a certain few elements embedded within the episode was enough to rub some fans the wrong way and leave them with an overall negative impression of the installment.
